DEKA Ziplock Bags

Product description

  • Film produced in our own facilities
  • Press-lock closure; press to seal, reopen repeatedly
  • Flexo printing, up to eight colours
  • Bottom gusset and hang hole optional

Press-lock bags — also called zip-lock bags or resealable pouches — are polyethylene packaging closed by interlocking ribs at the mouth, designed to be opened and closed repeatedly. The mouth opens directly; to close it you press the two edges together until the ribs engage. This keeps the pack closed throughout shipping and lets the recipient reseal it after reaching the product.

Production

DEKA Plastik is a manufacturer producing ziplock bags in its own facilities. The film is extruded in our own facilities; we do not buy film in. The lock component is sourced, and its integration into the bag is done on our own locking machine. The material is MDPE and LDPE.

Press-lock or zipper?

The two products are often confused, and their closures differ. A press-lock bag uses interlocking ribs: the mouth is sealed by pressure, with no separate part. A zipper bag has an actual zipper, opened and closed with a slider. The press-lock is the simpler construction; the zipper carries a separate slider part. We decide which suits you by looking at how your product is handled.

Who uses them?

On this product our buyers are mainly textile companies, using the bags both for retail presentation and as shipping packaging. Beyond that they are chosen for packing small parts, accessories and spares, for sample and promotional shipments, for grouping components on the assembly line, and for sorting in the warehouse.

Variants

The lock type is fixed; its colour varies per order. A gusset can be added at the bottom, letting bulkier products sit without deforming the bag. A hang hole can be punched where retail shelf or peg display is required. Printing is flexo, up to eight colours, with the print area and placement planned per order.

Material and compliance

The product can be made to two recipes, and the two are mutually exclusive. For food contact work only virgin polymer is used and production falls under our declaration of compliance. Where recycled content is required, production falls under our GRS 4.0 and RCS 2.0 scope certificates; that variant is for non-food use.

Size and gauge are set per order. Once the weight, dimensions and shipping method of your product are clear, we settle the specification together.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a press-lock bag and a zipper bag?

The closure. A press-lock bag has interlocking ribs: the mouth opens directly and you close it by pressing the two edges together until the ribs engage. A zipper bag has an actual zipper that you open and close with a slider.

Can it be used for products in contact with food?

Yes, it can be produced suitable for food contact on request. Production is then covered by our declaration of compliance and only virgin polymer is used.

Can it be produced with recycled content?

Yes, it can be produced to a recycled-content recipe under our GRS 4.0 and RCS 2.0 scope certificates. That variant is for non-food use; no recycled feedstock is used in food contact production.

What sizes and gauges do you produce?

Size and gauge are set per order. Tell us the weight and dimensions of your product and how it ships, and we will settle the specification together.

Can the bags be printed?

Yes, flexo printing in up to eight colours. The print area and its placement are planned per order.
