DEKA GRS Bag

Product description

  • Recycled content — not the same as recyclable
  • GRS 4.0 and RCS 2.0 scope certificate
  • Two recipes: recycled PE or recycled PP
  • Flexographic printing, up to eight colours

The GRS bag is produced from recycled raw material, and its content share is documented by an independent scope certificate. The decisive distinction for this product is this: it is not recyclable, it has recycled content. The first describes what happens after use; the second describes what the product is made from.

Two recipes

One of two recipes is chosen per customer: 100% recycled post-consumer PE or 95% recycled PP. Both are listed under the “Packing sacks, bags” item in the product annex of our GRS 4.0 and RCS 2.0 scope certificate. Which one is used is decided together at order stage.

What the certificate does and does not say

A scope certificate shows that our production facilities have been audited against the Textile Exchange standard by an independent body. On its own it does not prove that a given shipment is GRS certified — the certificate itself states this explicitly. If you need documentation at shipment level, that is a separate document (a Transaction Certificate) and is discussed at order stage.

We write this distinction out on the page because it is exactly the question that comes up in a buyer’s audit.

Limits

This product is not suitable for food contact. Production with recycled content is intended for non-food product groups; in our food-contact packaging only virgin polymer is used. For the food side, see our food packaging category.

Variants

Printing is flexographic and goes up to eight colours; the bag is also produced unprinted. A side or bottom gusset can be given. Where retail shelf or peg display is needed, a hang hole is added. If the bag is used as a carrier, a handle or die-cut handle can be applied.

What do you need for a quote?

Which recipe you want (PE or PP), the weight and size of the product to be carried, your printing requirement, whether you need documentation at shipment level, and your estimated annual volume. With that we work out the dimensions, gauge and print plan together.

Dimensions and gauge are set per order.

Frequently asked questions

Is recycled content the same as recyclable?

No, and the difference is decisive for this product. Recyclable describes what can happen to the product after use. Recycled content describes what the product itself is made from. This product is the second, and the content share is documented by our scope certificate.

Which recipe is it produced with?

There are two recipes and the choice is made per customer: 100% recycled post-consumer PE or 95% recycled PP. Both are listed in the product annex of our GRS 4.0 and RCS 2.0 scope certificate.

Will every shipment come with GRS documentation?

A scope certificate shows that our production facilities have been audited against the GRS standard; on its own it does not prove that a given shipment is GRS certified. If you need documentation at shipment level, we need to discuss that at order stage — that document is a Transaction Certificate.

Can it be used for food-contact products?

No. Production with recycled content is intended for non-food product groups. If you need food-contact packaging, see our food packaging category, where only virgin polymer is used.

What dimensions and gauge do you produce?

Dimensions and gauge are set per order. Tell us the weight and size of the product to be carried and how it is shipped, and we will settle the specification together.
