The cargo bag is a polyethylene bag used for courier and e-commerce shipments; it is also called a courier bag or a mailing bag. It is made from HDPE or LDPE film; the dimensions and the film gauge are set to the size and weight of what is being sent.
We produce cargo bags in our own facilities. Dimensions, gauge, finish and printing are set per order; a quotation starts from the size and weight of what you are shipping.
Production
The product is mono-material polyethylene. The film is produced in our own facilities by blown extrusion as a single layer; there is no lamination, no barrier layer, no metallised layer and no non-polyethylene component such as paper, aluminium or polyamide. Flexographic printing is applied in our own facilities and goes up to eight colours. Cutting and sealing are also done in our own facilities.
Biodegradability: not in the standard product
There is no biodegradability in the standard cargo bag. It can also be made with the d2w additive on request; that is a variant, and DEKA Plastik is an accredited user of d2w oxo-biodegradable plastic technology.
If you ship into the EU, the d2w variant is not suitable. Directive (EU) 2019/904 prohibits placing products made from oxo-degradable plastic on the EU market, and we do not offer that variant to EU buyers. For more on d2w, see our biodegradable bag page.
Variants
A side or bottom gusset can be given. The surface can be gloss, matt or clear. The film gauge is chosen to suit the job; printing goes up to eight colours and the product is also made unprinted.
Material and compliance
Where recycled content is required, recycled polyethylene can be used at the requested share; that use is independently verified under GRS 4.0 and RCS 2.0 scope certificates. A scope certificate on its own does not prove that a given shipment is covered; if you need documentation at shipment level, we need to discuss that at order stage.

Is the cargo bag biodegradable?
