Product description

  • Flexographic printing, up to eight colours
  • OPP and CPP film in reel format
  • Wound to the width and diameter your line needs
  • Food-contact production available on request

Printed reels are OPP and CPP film reels with flexographic printing applied. The film goes into the packaging machine as a reel; the machine cuts it on the line, wraps it around the product and seals it. The only thing that sets this product apart from the unprinted reel is the printing — the film, the format and the size options are the same.

Production

We source OPP and CPP film from our approved suppliers; these polypropylene-based films are not produced in our own facilities. The flexographic printing and slitting applied to the film are done in our own facilities. Printing goes up to eight colours, and the reel is wound to the width and diameter your packaging machine needs.

Printed or unprinted?

The choice follows whether the packaging should carry brand identity. On the printed reel the logo, product information and design sit on the film. On the unprinted reel the film runs plain; that suits you when the label is applied separately or when the packaging is a layer nobody sees. If you feed an automatic filling machine, see our automatic filling reels; for an industrial bread line, see our roll bread packaging.

Variants

The surface can be gloss or matt. The film gauge is chosen to suit the job. Micro-perforation or a tear line can be added to the reel. Width and diameter are set to suit your line.

Material and compliance

The material is OPP and CPP. These films are polypropylene-based and are not produced in our own facilities; they are sourced from our approved suppliers. Printing and slitting are done by us.

That distinction can be decisive for buyers shipping into the EU: our declaration of material composition covers shop bags and general-purpose polyethylene bags, and this category falls outside that scope. If you are looking for a mono-material polyethylene product, you should look at our PE bag group.

For food-contact work production is carried out under our declaration of compliance and only virgin polymer is used.

What do you need for a quote?

The width and diameter your packaging machine needs, the gauge, your printing requirement and your estimated annual running metres. With that we work out the film selection and the print plan together.

Width, diameter and gauge are set per order.

Frequently asked questions

Which printing method do you use?

Flexographic printing. It goes up to eight colours and the print area is planned per order. If no printing is needed, we have unprinted reels.

How does it differ from the unprinted reel?

The only difference is the printing. The film, the format and the size options are the same; if the brand identity should be visible on the packaging, the printed reel suits you, and if it should not, the unprinted reel does.

Do you produce the film yourselves?

We source OPP and CPP film from our approved suppliers; flexographic printing and slitting are done in our own facilities. Polyethylene film we produce by extrusion in our own facilities.

What width and diameter do you wind to?

Width and diameter are set per order. Tell us the sizes your packaging machine needs and we will wind the reel to suit your line.

Can it be used for food-contact products?

Yes, food-contact production is available on request. In that case production is carried out under our declaration of compliance and only virgin polymer is used.
