Transport Bag

The transport bag is a polyethylene bag made for heavy and bulky work. What sets it apart from DEKA’s other PE bags is not a fitting but scale: film gauge and dimensions can go to a higher ceiling than in our other bags when the job calls for it. If what you are packing is large or heavy, this is one of the options; how it differs from the reinforced bag is set out below.

Production

The product is mono-material 100% polyethylene. The film is produced in our own facilities by blown extrusion as a single layer; there is no lamination, no barrier layer, no metallised layer and no non-polyethylene component such as paper, aluminium or polyamide. Flexographic printing is applied in our own facilities and goes up to eight colours. Cutting and sealing are also done in our own facilities.

Transport bag or reinforced bag?

Both are made for heavy work, but they work on different axes. In the reinforced bag the strengthening goes to the load points: the handle and mouth area, because that is where the stress gathers when the bag is loaded. In the transport bag the scale grows instead — the ceiling for film gauge and dimensions is higher. What decides between them is whether the load gathers at a point or whether the bag simply has to be bigger and thicker. Tell us the weight and size of what is carried and we will decide together.

Variants

A side or bottom gusset can be given. A hang hole can be added. The bottom of the bag can be supplied taped or untaped. The surface can be gloss or matt; printing goes up to eight colours and the bag is also produced unprinted.

Material and compliance

The product can be made to two formulations and they exclude one another. For food-contact work only virgin polymer is used and production is carried out under our declaration of compliance. Where recycled content is required, recycled polyethylene can be used at the requested share; that variant is for non-food use.

What do you need for a quote?

The weight and size of what is carried, how the bag will be loaded, your printing requirement, your surface and bottom tape preference, and your estimated annual volume. With that we work out the dimensions, gauge and print plan together.
