Bakery product packaging is the ready-made bag used to prepare bread and bakery goods for sale and shipment. The bag is delivered cut and sealed; the product is filled by hand or on a semi-automatic line.
Production
The material for this product is OPP and CPP. We source the OPP and CPP film; our own extrusion produces polyethylene film. The flexographic printing and the cutting and sealing applied to the film are done in our own facilities, and the bag is formed by those processes. Printing goes up to eight colours.
Production is suitable for food contact and only virgin polymer is used.
Ready-made bag or roll film?
Two of our products are often confused. Bakery product packaging is a ready-made bag: it arrives cut and sealed, ready to be filled. Roll bread packaging is roll film: it feeds into the packaging machine and becomes a bag in line. The choice depends on how your packing line is built. If you fill by hand or semi-automatically, the ready-made bag suits you; if you run an automatic line, the roll does.
Who uses it?
Our buyers for this product are industrial bakeries and bakery goods manufacturers. Retail chains packing their own-brand products also prefer ready-made bags.
Variants
Micro-perforation can be applied to the bag. If the product needs to be visible on the shelf, an unprinted clear area is left on the film. The mouth of the bag can be closed with tape, and bulky products can be given a side or bottom gusset.
What do you need for a quote?
What the product is and its dimensions, how you fill the bag (by hand or semi-automatically), your closure preference, your printing requirement and your estimated annual volume. With that we work out the dimensions, gauge and print plan together. Sharing a photo of the bag you currently use shortens the process considerably.
Limits
These bags are made for use at room temperature under normal storage conditions. They are not suitable for extreme temperatures such as deep freezing or oven baking. If you have that kind of requirement, tell us and we will point you to a different structure.
Dimensions and gauge are set per order. Once the size, weight and presentation of your product are clear, we settle the specification together.

Frequently asked questions
Ready-made bag or roll film?
Bakery product packaging is produced as a ready-made bag, delivered cut and sealed. If you feed roll film into a packaging machine, see our roll bread packaging page.
What dimensions and gauge do you produce?
Dimensions and gauge are set per order. Tell us the size and weight of your product and how it is presented, and we will settle the specification together.
How is the bag closed?
Tape closure can be applied, sealing the mouth of the bag with adhesive tape. The closure is planned around how the product is presented.
Can a clear area be left so the product is visible?
Yes. An unprinted zone is left on the film so the product shows through. This differs from a paper bag with a window insert; DEKA does not produce paper bakery bags.
Is it produced with recycled content?
No. This is a food-contact product, so only virgin polymer is used. The product itself is made from recyclable material.
Can it be used in a freezer or an oven?
No. These bags are made for use at room temperature under normal storage conditions; they are not suitable for extreme temperatures such as deep freezing or oven baking.
